As a fitting end to their time at school and a great experience for STEM week, the ducklings had their first swimming lesson. Before the ducklings went back to the farm, it was time to let them have their first swim. The Hedgehogs first built an enclosure to keep them safe, then found a 'pond' to fill with water. They added an island in the centre, so the ducklings could climb up out of the water. There was a huge amount of excitement all round!! After their swim we had to dry the ducklings and then put them back in their cage to rest. The children re-enacated their experience afterwards, with our plastic ducks. The children took great care of our ducklings - well done Hedgehogs!
